The dining program at Sweet Briar College was owned and operated by the college for 109 years, serving great nutritional food to the students and faculty not to mention numerous special events for the community. Aramark came in and destroyed the outstanding food reputation of the college. The students haven't had a safe, healthy meal in the last four years. Please take this opportunity for Sweet Briar2.0 to bring back in house dining where " it should be" , serving great food that the students need and deserve.

The food was so good when I was at SBC in the late 90's. Bring it back so future students can enjoy it like we did!

Concerned parent of a rising senior. This is a huge issue for me that Aramark is sent packing. Out with the bad this is the time to make a positive change.

Award winning in house food service will keep students as well as alumni coming back. This is the way to dovetail a Culinary Institue as well as a farm to table program.

I spent so much money buying food during my four years it wasn't even worth paying for the meal plan. Hope you guys can change that!

Couldn't agree more! Farm to table using SBC's abundant acreage to grow the food would be awesome!

I have serious digestive issues and when the quality of food went down it made my life a living hell. Food is beyond important and needs to be up to par to keep everyone healthy and happy!

The food was wonderful when I was a student and so were the people who prepared it!

My daughter SBC '12 was there for the last year of the SBC operated food service and was always talking about how great it was. So great that the local judges, police, EMTs, and other Amherst officials and residents ate there too. What an opportunity to connect with the community. After Aramark took over, she complained about the food and noted that on campus events dropped in number because the contract required them to use Aramark and the food was not good. Do what you have to do for the coming year, but keep in mind SBC runs on its stomach and the students use social media to tell the world about the raw chicken, bugs in salad, etc. If you are between a rock and a hard place, do not extend the contract beyond the next year and hold Aramark's feet to the fire to provide healthful food that is also palatable.

When I was at Sweet Briar 1984-88 the food was amazing! It was one of the things I missed most when I graduated and was definitely the only thing that kept me around on campus on weekends along with Dell parties. We might go to W&L or Hampden Sydney for a party or one overnight but I largely stayed on campus because the "eatin" there was better than elsewhere. I serious hope my swimmer daughter decides to go to SBC because they have brought back engineering program or started vetinary program (she's got a STEM brain) but would not be able to recommend it as a serious athlete if new administration chooses substandard food service again as she would be unable to get better food off campus given location. I.e. There is no way to find alternative food source for her needs.
