Mother of returning Vixen class of 2018. As I stated in my email to President Stone and all BOD members, food and shelter, two essentials of life. In order to feed the mind one must first feed and nourish the body and shelter these young ladies within a caring community. Sweet Briar right now has the opportunity to move positively towards building that community with an in house dining service. There is great comfort in good food shared around a table with conversation and friendship. There is great pride in one's school when it stands at the top of the list for feeding students quality food. Sweet Briar was once at the top of that list and has the opportunity to be there again with people who will work diligently to make that happen. Food and shelter should be a priority for our Vixens at their home away from home.

Food was prepared in house 79-84 when I was a student. Delicious nutritious meals were and should be provided to future Sweet Briar students.

I assume there are current contracts in place, so it is likely we are talking medium-term planning, not short term implementation. I look forward to hearing more from the board as our mission and strategies are solidified.

My daughters one and only complaint over the three years that she has been a student at Sweet Briar has been the food. When we visited the food was very good. She made her final decision that day to become Sweet Briar woman as a high school jr. Low and behold the food quality changed drastically once she was on campus. She has not had anything but complaints about food the ever since.

There are a few local, experienced, dedicated, very "Sweet Briar" tuned-in, previous employees who should be in on the ground floor of planning the new food service function. Nancy Hudson Herr has >30 years experience in this field, mostly at SBC, and now with the public schools in Lynchburg. A wealth of knowledge is held by these local professionals.

The previous dining plan made a huge impression when we visited in the Fall of 2010. It alone did not seal the deal but it was reassuring to know that, with all the changes and stress that starting college brings, eating well and staying healthy woyld not be a problem. My daughter did not gain the famous freshmsn 15#, she lost weight and alot of it. The food got worse each of her four years. Great food and related Dining Services will. go a lo g way to keep everyone coming back!!!!!!

students need well balanced nutrious food. Amarak needs to go. I would personally like to see Kevin Phelps return to help set up a good quality dining hall.

I want students to have good food at every meal, not just doughnuts on Thursdays and omelets and pancakes on the weekends.

Let's get the food standard back up to where women at Sweet Briar expect! Inhouse with people we trust.

Maslow's hierarchy. We must first nourish and house our students before we can cultivate their minds. If we strive for excellence, we must do so in all regards.

Please say no to big company contracts! Bring home the old Prothro staff! They are much loved, and deserve to come home just like students, faculty, and other staff.

I am class of 96. Not only did the private kitchen staff cook excellent meals they provided love and a family feel at every meal. It's just one aspect of why I stayed at Sweet Briar but it's an important one.

If we can make better food feasible we should do it.

When you're in the pink bubble, a top-notch dining hall experience is a must to keep students happy, healthy and focused on their studies.
