As a current student I feel that the food service absolutely must change. Nutritious and appetizing options are a must for our success at Sweet Briar. These options were not viable with Aramark serving us.

I trust that the Food Service Will remain in-house with Kevin Phelps at the helm. Food is a critical component of our rebirth. Thank you.

The same alumnae who knew we could save the school know that we should have internal dining services. Aramark has too many problems with ethics and sanitation to work at Sweet Briar for another day, let alone a year. If you haven't even spoken to Kevin about his proposal amid all the information gathering about companies, then you haven't taken it seriously.

From a few comments to my email from the BOD, I get the impression that some BOD members see food as an issue of much lesser importance than academics. However, at a residential college where room and board is included, good food is central to creating and maintaining a healthy, happy community. We DO NOT want corporations in our Sweet Briar. Let's go back to independent dining services. It's absolutely the right thing to do for our community, for our students, for our staff. I will withdraw future pledges if Sweet Briar continues to outsource its dining to corporations.

Mom of a returning Senior! No more raw chicken, molded/stale bread, sub-standard salad bar with slimy lettuce, and very few gluten free options.

Nutritious healthy good tasting food feeds the soul. Food tastes and expectations have changed and we need to keep up. I didn't believe all the stink about the food until one evening last March when I stopped in for dinner. It was so unappetizing I could not believe my eyes - and I am not that picky I love food - it made me so sad to see the students line up for the only fresh thing there - omeletes - not that they are bad but that they were the only choice that even appeared edible. Please it bring back In house to people who care to feed our Vixens like they were their own daughters thank you for your time and attention to this very important decision

The food needs to improve to attract students. I have had most experience with the very sub par catered events- lots of OLD BROWN LETTUCE- not sure how it could be served, looked like the salad was made DAYS earlier- Aramark has many "levels" of service- if we can't go entirely in house- we need to at least up the level we use- we will not survive with bad food-

Thinking, hard working students are well-cared for, nourished students.
