Not only have I purchased uniform clothes, assuming that was what the policy would remain, but I have returned those clothes now and purchased t-shirts and jeans for my daughter as per the July 20th policy change. My family is out of state on vacation this week, so I will not be able to tell you exact amounts for the money I have already spent. I can say I will not be home in time to do this all over again before school starts. In addition to this, the school board's explanation regarding the reason for this change seems entirely contrived. I simply do not understand how my child's safety is affected by the collar on her shirt or the fabric her pants are made from. If anything, denim is a bit sturdy when she skins her knee and will provide a little more protection. Lastly, we have all heard it said "a man is only as good as his word." Yesterday, in reversing this decision, the school board has gone back on their word, and because of this I have had to go back on mine. This is unacceptable. The School Board has had ample time to make this decision, but more importantly, NO decision should have ever been made public until it was FINALIZED.

Fayette co needs to make up their minds. Hard working parents don't have the money to buy 2 sets of uniforms.

Since it was posted on the Fayette co school fb page I think they should have to honor it. Parents went by the post to buy uniforms for their children. An now they want to change it. I say send ur kids to school n what u bought. Make up ur mind Fayette co.

Spent over $300 for two kids. Now only about $30 worth of stuff is allowed. Every thing has been washed and can't be returned.

We just delt with this situation at the end of the last school year... changing "dress code" at the last minute. Now here we go again. It was posted over a week ago what the kids could wear this school year now here we go again... IT HAS BEEN CHANGED! I have already bought my kids the solid t shirts with no collar (navy, white, purple, gold and black) for 2 kids along with new jeans and Jean shorts for both that go to 2 different schools. If it wasn't going to stay what you posted the first time then it shouldn't have been posted until there was a FINAL decision. PERIOD!!
