Faster Broadband and Total Mobile Phone coverage in Mid Devon

We need a fast and efficient broadband service and good coverage of mobile phone signal

The requirement for a strong and reliable internet service has become an essential way of life to prevent people in rural areas from being second class citizens. This equally applies to mobile phone signal and DAB broadcasts.

Fed up with signal disappearing when using the Internet. Tried for an hour last night to place an order and lost the signal twice and in the end gave up in disgust.

I have been requesting Broadband Coverage let alone a faster system. I also have requested greater mobile coverage. It is criminal that there should be vast area's in Great Brittain where no signals are available should an emergency arise. For God's sake where ever you stand in Great Britian you are never more than 70 miles from the Sea. So what is so hard about getting a mobile phone signal. Lets hope we never have to go to war again !!!!!!!

Unless some progress in gaining fast web access is realised very soon, the poor and unreliable broadband situation here in Mid Devon will inevitably result in our area becoming known as a rural backwater where working from home, running a farm or business is increasingly difficult or even impossible. This will have real consequences in restricting choice for existing residents or encouraging people to move here. The local economy will suffer and anyone who may wish to move on because of this problem may be impacted by a double whammy in finding it difficult to sell their devalued home.

i totally support this petition for better Broadband speeds not only in rural communities but also for the town. Speed and coverage it well below par and the number of times Broadband just drops out is getting to be unreasonable in this day of technology

Our coverage in Yeoford is pathetic,with little or no mobile useage, and VERY slow broadband speeds

My mother lives on a farm in Pennymoor and mobile coverage is very poor and broadband is also very erratic.

I manage the building of multiple A.D plants ocross Devon. Providing gas and electricity for the national grid. Investing millions into local communities and supporting hundrens of jobs. My challenge every day is finding a location with a mobile signal and internet connection. Please work towards providing the connections we need to be effective in what we do.

Broadband upload speed in Morchard Bishop varies wildly. I test my speed every day and in the last 2months I have had upload speeds from 0,6Mps to 6.5Mps. The ping times vary from 65ms to over 900 to no connection possible! Working from home and using large technical files, this makes my commercial life very hit and miss. Despite BT claims to connect Morchard Bishop with a fiver optic connection, we are still waiting. As Chairman of Morchard Bishop Parish Council we have made many requests to BT for information - but all have been ignored. The mobile phone signal is just not reliable, it is in and out. From my top bedroom it is usable and also outside my garage. The rest of my house and also in many places around Morchard Bishop it is not possible to get a signal..As more and more firms now require a mobile contact number this leaves us in a vulnerable position.

I'm fed up with always having our area ignored to improve the broadband coverage, yet we still have to pay over the odds for the slow speed that we have, when others in towns with high speeds pay less. Where is the justice in that?
