Fetal alcohol spectrum disorders (FASD) are a series of completely preventable mental and physical birth defects resulting from maternal alcohol consumption during pregnancy. FASD are lifelong conditions that can significantly impact on the life of the individual and those around them. There is currently no reliable evidence on the incidence of FASD in the Uk. Much of the evidence derives from research in the USA and Canada. FASD is regarded as the leading non-genetic cause of intellectual disability in the Western World. This petition is about getting support to pressure health and education ministers to provide learning in schools about FASD. Please sign the petition and get you friends to. The momentum behind this petition proves that people are finished with the government ignoring the reality of FASD. Health and education ministers are running out of excuses to keep our children in the dark while this preventable crisis continues to destroy lives.

My cousin has this and the struggle is real. People have no clue how serious a glass of wine can be. Kids need to hear the truth in health class.

it is so sad that this is 100% preventable. if teenagers knew the actual facts maybe we could stop some of this heartbreak.
