Japan is the world's leading state supporter of child abduction. Parents have no rights; children have no rights. There is no remedy for Max's plight. Today, three million children in Japan have no access rights to their parent, and their parent has no meaningful access right to them. The goal is to destroy the relationship between the parent and his child with absolutely no concern for the well being of the children or their parents. And it succeeds quite well at inducing the sort of behavior in Japanese parents, as in this case, as well, by making them feel that it is that parent's particular right to abduct the child, obtain possession and sole custody, eliminate the parental rights of the other parent, and expel that person permanently from the child's life. For this reason, Japan should be sanctioned by every nation on Earth. Today, it is the world's number one haven for international child abduction.

Certainly, Max deserves to see his daughter. The laws need to be changed in Japan to give father's more visitation rights. I hope it all works out for Max and his family.
