Children should never be forcefully separated from their parents against their will.

This injustice could not happen to someone less deserving. I have know Max for many years, and won't hesitate to day that he is one of the most kind, loyal and hardworking people I have ever known. I know his greatest wish is to be with his daughter and family in Japan. I hope more than anything to see Max happy again, as he is so very dear to my heart. It's time for the Japanese government to show some decency, humanity and sense, instead of forcing families apart and separating parents and children. The current archaic and evil attitude of the Japanese government and immigration ruins the lives of both parents and children. It is the only way Japan can ever be fairly recognised as a first world country with standard human rights.

I hope this family can be in a healthy situation as soon as possible.

I do not know whether or not he was and has been a good father and husband, but it is clear he belongs IN Japan with his family and near his child.

Max has been my friend ever since I met him in Nagoya in 2009. Nothing made him happier than the day his daughter was born, and nothing has given him more hope to fight on than the chance at once again seeing his little girl again. The fact that this is even possible, to not only disallowed the right to see your own offspring, but now to be legally separated from your own family is unfathomable in just about every other so-called "first world" nation that abides by UN conventions. If Japan wants to prove to the world that it is ready to sit at the same table that governs world society, then start with cases like these and show some leniency, mercy, common sense and human compassion. Max (and others in the same boat) should never be split from their families and allowed refuge. He is a contributing part of JAPANESE society and has been for the last 10 years, even while the asinine laws of the land have conspired to take his God-given paternal rights away. Japan, please do the right thing and let Max stay with his family.

The state is supporting acts of malicious desertion, this must stop immediately. Grant Max his Visa it is not right that you rip out from under his feet his remaining family in such a time of distress.
