Family Request to Keep Remote IFSP Meetings

There is no reason why these meetings can't be held virtually.

Maintaining meetings remotely allows for families with immunocompromised family members and children to not put themselves or families at risk. Also, for low-income families to save money on travel and for the loss of services that a child may have due to travel.

After more than a year in EI, I can attest that having the IFSP meetings via phone was perfectly sufficient. Forcing this meeting to be in person holds no additional benefit and is just a burden to families with already incredibly tight schedules trying to fit in all the child's treatments around work and other normal life obligations. IMO the priority should be filling positions to make sure all evaluations and therapy can be done in-person for qualifying families who prefer in-person therapy sessions versus tele...

Another example of government making arbitrary rules that create unnecessary burdens of time, money, exposure to Covid, and hassle, upon citizens including single parents by choice, working parents, and low-income parents. You don't need to do a study to figure out that phone-in / remote option is superior to in-person meetings. in person meetings waste so much time. You don't need to see what we look like to determine if services are needed.

In-person meetings are unnecessary, nothing is gained by coming in person. A lot is lost - time, money, hassle, inconvenience, exposure to Covid, rearranging of schedules. Remote/phone option should continue to exist even if you start offering in person meetings. Watch how few people show up for in-person meetings.

It's been so convenient to have IFSPs over the phone, and I believe we're getting the same value as an in person meeting without as much hassle. Thanks for all you do!

Having in person meetings is very unnecessary and imposes a hardship when people have more than one child at home. A phone conversation does the same thing as an in person meeting and if one really wants an in person meeting then that option can be available.

remote IFSP meetings make EI much more accessible to lower income families, those with more restrictive jobs, those with mobility issues. These children deserve to have get the services they need too!

Please keep remote as an option! It helps everyone involved. Covid is everywhere again. Keep meetings remote for all of our safety. Remote it much more efficient for everyone involved!

Holding telephone meetings are much more convenient, smooth, and efficient for both the EI professionals and parents.

Not everyone has the privilege of driving or can afford a taxi or Uber or has someone to babysit their kids. or even take time off from work. So for these reasons I am signing the petition.

Please allow meetings to continue over the phone or by virtual meeting. As a parent, the travel makes accessing services more challenging.
