Please sign this petition and share with other local people if you would prefer to see Family Homes built and not a Waste Transfer Station at Seven Lakes Industrial Estate in Ealand.

This site has been passed for a waste station with a furnace!! but is that what Ealand and surrounding areas really need? or would the area benefit more from new family homes?

The reason for the petition is the land owner applied for planning to build family homes on the land but after the local council carried out a survey (a few years ago) the result came back that the residents felt that there was no requirements for more family homes in the area. So a planning application was resubmitted but for a waste station with furnace and this has now been approved, however the land owner really wants to sell the land. The land owner lives local he does not want to have a waste station in the area and would really like to see new family homes.

Please share and sign if you would like to see new family homes built!!!

I have been staring at the maps of the Seven Lakes industrial site all evening and it just makes so little sense to put a furnace there when we are desperate for spaces where families can actually live. Someone from the council just emailed back with a very vague reply about the original survey but I am not letting that stop me because the owner is still on our side and wants these houses built instead.

I really never thought this would gain this much steam but here we are and it makes me feel like the neighbors actually have a shot at stopping that furnace. It is just honestly surreal to see so many people backing the homes instead of the waste facility because I was so worried everyone felt defeated by the council already.

Seven Lakes country park is a wonderful peaceful and idyllic retreat for locals as well as the people who commute in. Ealand itself is a very nice village. It already sits overlooking the largest wind farm in England...DO NOT let a waste transfer station be built here. Please don't spoil this beautiful part of the Isle of Axholme anymore!

we have rcentley bought a home at seven lakes and this would destroy the area, its is discusting, the area crowle etc is a beautiful area , isle of axholme that is idyllic with lots of beautiful surrounding countryside, many moreeople are becoming interested in this area I myself will be looking to move permanently to this area and apply for work and even have considered a new business in the area, why destroy something idyllic, too many places are being ruined

How did the waste station get passed we have not heard anything about this. We had this about waste station a few years ago. We don't need either. It strikes me if they can't get their own way re houses they will threaten us with something we don't want. Where's the consultation

As a former resident of Ealand I'm sure people are fed up of being not listened to & dumped on. After years of campaigning about the proposed wind-farm, to be told it won't be happening, so we stopped campaigning sure we had won, only for them to go ahead with it anyway!! Keep this campaign going, don't drop your guard Ealand, fight them all the way. Local houses for local people!!!

Our area is trying so hard to better itself and improve the lives of the local people. To open a waste site like this just as you enter the village is not only an eye sore and environmentally concerning for local people but it gives visitors the wrong impression about the area. Plus it will significantly reduce the prices of the houses of the people in Ealand. Something like this needs to be on an industrial estate out of the way and not in our village that is trying to hard to make itself more welcoming
