An 18-year-old Iranian is facing imminent execution on charges of homosexuality, even though he has no legal representation. Ebrahim Hamidi, who is not gay, was sentenced to death for lavat, or sodomy, on the basis of "judge's knowledge", a legal loophole that allows for subjective judicial rulings where there is no conclusive evidence. After three days in detention, Hamidi confessed to the crime, allegedly under torture. However, last month Hamidi's alleged victim admitted that he had been under pressure from his parents to make false accusations. Nevertheless the local judiciary has insisted that Hamidi should be executed.
William Hague please in your role as Foreign Secretary halt this execution in the name of human rights.
I have spent hours pouring over the updates regarding Ebrahim and the lack of evidence in his case feels more haunting every single day. My inbox is quiet regarding any official response from the Foreign Office so I am continuing to push through every available channel to ensure his situation is not ignored.

This is absolutely barbaric. How can they justify killing a teenager based on nothing? Stop this now.

The victim himself admitted his story was fake. What more proof do they need to stop this madness? Fix this before it is too late.
