Hertford needs people to visit it - not to frighten them away with additional parking fees - that all disappear into a Council 'black hole' !!

There should be no evening parking charges in Hertford as this will kill off any trade in the town altogether and further add to parking in illegal and inappropriate places.

With more and more development taking place in the town centre I believe all residents should be issued with a parking permit ... unfair to those using council car parks

Being in the theatre scene, I'm well aware of the damage it could do to the thriving theatre industry in the town, with the threat to both Hertford Theatre itself and to the smaller theatre up near Richard Hale, which would result in members of the society having to pay parking simply to attend rehearsals. It's quite simply going to kill what remains of the town.

The rent in the area for any local business is extortionate, without the added cost of more parking charges. Parking in Hertford is already so limited, give us all a break!!!

Parking in Hertford is already bad enough! If the council are doing this to help pay for silly unessacerry things like the Hertford North bike rack then maybe they should ask the people of Hertford town If they want this stuff 1st!

Am quite shocked that the council have let HERTFORD disintegrate like it has. I used to be the CEO's PA and he was always championing the community so can't understand why he has let it get like this!

I work in Hertford and do use the car park in the evening when I have to stay late

More empty car parks are more crowded side streets. Local residents will be the big losers.

We get lots of commuters parking along the already congested New Road. These new parking charges will only make it worse and particularly bad for those of us who live along these 'free parking' roads. We ask that East Herts also consider a residents permit for a window 12 -2 daily which will discourage commuters from using the free parking but still allow those using the town to do so without charge.
