I have a business in Parliament Square, I got ticket many many time. Sometimes you are only 2 minute late (Allow 30 minutes). I only parked 32 minutes, it looks like they are waiting to give the ticket, it's bad for business, even for my customer. They can't find the parking, have to park the double yellow line, like me sometime. Well I have just got a ticket 2 days ago which is 8pm at night and it's very quiet, the road is very quiet. I haven't block anybody way, just a few minutes and they give the ticket right away. Not enough parking, it would be better if the council allow parking double yellow line which isn't blocking anybody.

Outrageous! The council are just making money on the back of the local residents and worker. There are plenty alternative methods for loal parking. I love to shop there when we visit relations in Hertfordshire.

Why don't the council promote local traders instead of putting another cost onto potential customers.

especially with the report that Waitrose may move away any increase in charges or times will result in less people/shoppers comming to the town.

We regularly come into Hertford in the evening and prefer to use the car parks rather than trying to find spaces in the side streets. Charging for evening parking will stop people coming to Hertford or else they will abandon their cars in any residential side streets where they can find a space.

You will cripple families and businesses in all of the towns. Business are struggling already. Do you really want our towns full of charity shops and no other businesses?

I work in Hertford during the day and think the parking situation is bad enough as it is - £4.40 a day (or £3.96 with the ParkItSmart discount). One of the good things about working in Herford is the night life and the ease with which you can pop out for dinner or to the pub and if we then have to pay for car parking it is a deterrent due to the cost and inconvenience of needing to have a supply of change on you. This would be bad for businesses and would mean that I stick to Stevenage for a night out.

These councils have no idea how to support the struggling business's that have to pay the already large business rates. Surely the council should be encouraging people of an evening into town and not using it as yet another cash cow !"

Visitors to Hertford should vote with their feet and chose other towns with less extortionate parking fees. Businesses will close and East Herts will get their dream town. No shops, no pubs, no businesses, no visitors. No problems.

I feel this change would be detrimental in encouraging people to live in the residential areas in the center of Hertford. We should be encouraging people to live in the center of Hertford as surely this is a group of people that will support local trade and therefore avoid more empty shop units.
