President-elect Obama,
The campaign is over. It is now time to focus on where our nation will go from here. We disagree on many things, but if we are to take you at your word, we agree in the fundamental importance of encouraging open and honest debate in a Democratic society. There are those in Congress, who do not seem to feel this way. We believe this to be the case due to the recent calls for reinstating the so-called 'Fairness Doctrine'. The Fairness Doctrine, is far from fair, it lies a great distance from liberty. It will be used to shut out the voice of the opposition. Those are tactics of Chavez, not a self-styled post-partisan leader. We recall the words of your election victory speech: I will listen to you, especially when we disagree.
We are now waiting and watching. President-elect Obama, do not reinstate the Fairness Doctrine. You were not our candidate, but you are our president. Represent us all, not the clamoring partisans in Washington.
Citizens of the United States
The rapid growth of this petition indicates that public opposition to the Fairness Doctrine is reaching a critical level. I am currently finalizing a formal letter to the transition team that outlines our specific objections to these potential policy changes. Meetings are being scheduled with legislative aides to ensure our position is fully documented before the upcoming administration takes office.

This is nothing but censorship. If people dont like what they hear on the radio they can just change the channel. Simple as that.

Very worried about where this is heading. If they control the airwaves they control the country. Just say no.

Keep the government out of our radios. We dont need someone in DC telling us what is fair or balanced. Let us choose what we want to hear.

Dont let them silence talk radio. We have enough nonsense in this country without congress dictating our opinions.
