Our new home was barely occupied in January and the bill was almost $700. Outrageous!

I could understand if they forewarned us and did it gradually, but to just hike the bill without any warning was a really shady thing to do.

my bill went from 76 per month to 407.00 for a small condo and I was not home for one week of the billing period. I am 72 years old and recently widowed.

I am a single mom whom solely supports my kids with three jobs just to pay the basic bills. My bill went from my normal winter rate of $175 to about $485 in one month. When I called to explain that I couldn't pay the bill in full they threatened to shut my power off. I explained why I wasn't preparied for my bill to jump so much they blamed it on the winter weather. Well I live in a town where it's winter 9 months a year. So why would this be different for 2017 winter.. They told me to pay my bill or get disconnected. The bill got paid but we had to get food from the food bank and were living on ramin roodles now because it's going to take me three months to catch up from that bill. Im hoping my next bill isnt the same or we will be out of heat because I can't afford to pay that much for utilities. Now that their supply cost equals the usage cost. I can't afford to heat the house for my kids.

I have seen around the same kilowatt hours from last year to this year but instead of my bill being around $120- $150 it's been $350-$400 a month which has had a huge impact on my financial stability.

I have had NorthWestern Energy at the last three places I've lived. The first place, I found out after 2yrs of living there, that Northwest Energy was going off an "average" of the previous tenants. 5 people lived there before me. I was a single person that was never home paying a bill averaged off of 5 people! Same thing happened at the 2nd place we lived. The meter reader wouldn't come in the yard because I own dogs. My bill was averaged off of the previous couple with kids. Again, I was only one person that was never home. The place that I moved to 7 months ago was averaging a monthly bill of $105-$140 (Summer/Winter) my last bill came in almost doubled!! I was out of state that month, so, I used way less energy and gas, but yet if almost doubled!! THIS CO. IS PRACTICING ILLEGAL ACTIONS!!!

We lease a building on the corner of Park and 3rd known as the whitings building it has been separated into commercial condos and new meters were put in at that time we have also seen the last three power bills from NorthWestern Energy have more than doubled we are not doing anything really any differently other than running a heater on cold days but our bills at the same time last year war on average a hundred and fifty to $200 less in the same months last year... and of course we were running a heater then too!! In December we were away for almost 3 weeks and we're not working in the building and we still received an extremely high power bill ...... we only had the shop open for a week and a half

wages have not gone up....yet power bills are doubling this winter. How is this acceptable, especially when the power company has absolutely no compassion, I've really struggled this winter and two reps I spoke with at NWE straight lied to me regarding federal laws on shutting people off in the winter. I had to talk to a supervisor in order to get someone to admit that anyone receiving low income benefits, such as SNAP or LIEAP, are exempt from being cut off until March 31st. Repeatedly, the customer service reps told me it was at their discretion.

I don't have electric heat. My bill has doubled. I have started taking meter readings myself as its a digital meter and is easy. They say I average 43 kwts and the real average is 25. This is wrong on too many levels. Total lies b
