We use a wood stove to heat our home. Our energy usage should not change from month to month, nor year to year in the winter, We were socked with a bill three times what it should be. What they are saying should not have effected us at all.

This is Ridiculous!! I could not understand how my bill was way more than $100 over the same bill as last year when we were more careful and used less of everything this winter. I'm a single mother of 3, and when I'm preparing for a "worst case" on how high the bill will be and it is double that... it effects my kids. And I am not even a little bit ok with that.

I paid what I owed in full on January 13th, that same day we left for the entire weekend & had our thermostat set at 63 degrees since we weren't home. 2 weeks later I got my new bill that was $270, in the 2 winters I have been in my apartment my bill has never been over $130 & shouldn't of even came close to $270 with it being on low an entire weekend! When we are home my thermostat doesn't get touched & is always set at 73 degrees, they say it's so much because it was much colder this winter but I still never increased the temp on my thermostat so how is it possible for my bill to be that high!

There are financially reasonable ways to manual read meters more frequently. Especially for a company who profits $100,000,000.00 a year.
If estimates must be, then they need to be more ACCURATE

Not only should there be a fair rate, but the Power company should NOT be allowed to "estimate" bills, because they over estimate, and make money on interest on the excess funds. And are slow to return the money they legally stole.
Power companies should only charge what is fair and honest. Nothing more.

NWE public relations are a joke. When people called over disputing these current bills, they were laughed at, hung up on, and even told "we don't have to read your meter" whether their pricing is right or wrong, they need a lesson in customer service.

They claim it was a localized issue to the Helena area but we are seeing lots of people in other areas affected as well.

My electric bill doubled last month & I don't even know if I can pay it. My heat is gas so know it wasnt the cold. A lot of friends who r on a budget theirs doubled or tripled. Totally wrong...

We live in Bozeman...which is not mentioned in this story...but our bill was outrageous! We need other options.
