The rates are ridiculously outragous....our power bill exceeds affordability...we keep our heat super low and wear sweaters and use blankets all day....never turn our heat past 68 on cold days and always turn off lights not being used and keep appliances unplugged...yet we still pay over 500 a month...and when we asked about budget billing they said it would still be close to 400 so where does that help....and no I don't feel it's fair we are picking up their tab for taxes...

My was quite high this month as well. I am a single parent of two children. Work full time. I was forced to borrow money I can't pay back in order to pay my bill this month.

Energy bill rose from $270 to $670. Have never had a bill over $360 in 12 years. This month's Bill is $518. There is a dramatic problem with these increases.

Mine damn near doubled ! 381,00 compared to 200 or so in the winter for the last 7 years ! Now they say they are gonna shut my power off cause I'm behind on last month's bill ! I will never get caught up at this rate !!!!

I am so glad to see so many people standing up against this monopoly. Morally what NorthWestern has down is wrong, and I am thrilled to see that the PSC is not behind this.

My bill doubled in the space of one month despite decreased usage. As we have no choice in who provides our energy, and thus cannot take advantage of a competitive free market, the State must step in to protect its citizens. An increase like this protects Northwestern's profits at the expense of those who can afford it the least.

I just paid off $350 to NWE last month, and I keep my gas heater at 4 (~60F), and run very small appliances for short times. This is ridiculous, time for a better utility.

My bill went from 100 to 497 in a month. How the heck is that much energy used when I don't even have my thermostat on and My fiancé an I are hardly home. Also it says on The seventh I paid the outrageous bill price but as of a week later it says I own a higher amount.....

Last month our bill was as much as our house payment. I had heard there might be increases around the same time the weather got really cold but this was astronomical.
