My bill went from 89.00 to over 300.00 on a one bedroom apartment on the third floor!!!

not to mention we are always covered up with blankets because it's chilly in our home. But We can't afford the heat at 67* we don't dare turn it up any higher. and we don't have a huge home either it's maybe 1500 SQ FT. Northwestern is literally going to cause us to be homeless because we can't make the rent to pay the power bill. And when you call for them to split up the payment you have to pay the next months bill IN FULL and add the additional cost from the bill you split up. You will never be able to catch up and if you miss a payment or are late they take that as a broken arrangement. We had budget billing set up at one time but due to our payday we were 3 days late on the payment so they kicked us off that and now we can't get the bill paid in full to be able to get back on it.

Our power bill went from $200 to $672 in one month. Our thermostat stays on 67*. We can't afford to pay this. I called and all I got was its been really cold and if we come check your meter it's a $400 charge. We literally are having to choose between feeding our kids or power. And we are a 2 parent working household so we make to much for any assistance. But this is highway robbery!

Our power bills are way to high. A lot of people can barely afford to keep their house heated. This isn't right. Northwestern seems to want money after money and have raised many people's power bills for no reason. A lot of people use less power one than the previous month and the bill is higher. The bill is not just higher by a little but by hundreds of dollars. Northwestern is ripping us off.

My bill has never been over $60 dollars and it shocked me when I saw that it had doubled for the months of January and February. When I called to inquire about it the employee was rude and pretty much told me there was nothing I could do and then I asked to speak to the manager, but apparently the manager was out of office and then I was told they would come out and re-read the meter, which they did weeks later after I had already paid the damn bill. If I didn't have pets I would just tell them to cut all the electricity off for Gods sakes. I too am on a budget and in order to pay these high electric bills I'm having to overdraft.

Our bill is usually $145 and inexplicably went up to $390, when I called NW Energy I was told, it's because it was extremely cold out.

There is absolutely no reason that Northwest energy can keep raising delivery fees like this. People earning Montana's low wages and on fixed incomes cannot afford this.

We the people should not be paying for your tax hike, you don't pay ours, this is an unjust thing to do. Elderly on fixed incomes can't afford there bills doubled...like mine did.

Our bill went up $300 between December and January and we haven't done anything different. We don't even have electric heat! It's going to take months to catch up. Totally ridiculous!

I wonder if the "intellectual giants" who oppose HB189 and HB193 realize that they are in effect supporting the systematic removal of $23 million from the Montana economy. Money that folks would otherwise spend on goods and services within the state. I think not!!!

It's also time for Northwestern to pay residential customers for their sold and wind generations that exceed bills. They shouldn't be getting this energy for free.
