Our "budget billing" went up $80/month based on the fact that our balance was $660, $550 of which was just from Dec and Jan alone! I know it was cold this winter, but it wasn't THAT cold!

This is slimy, NW energy. Speaking for ALL families including very fixed income ones, disabled, or hard working families that are barely keeping our heads above water. Shame on you.

It's rediculous to pay 150.00 for electric for a brand new studio apartment.

Price gouging families in the dead of winter is not a good or fair business practice.

This isn't fair to anyone in the State of Montana. They need to repay those they unlawfully stolen money from. I am very angry.

What an outrageous and sad predicament this has put us all in. Heat should be a necessity, not a privilege. I find myself keeping my house cold so I can afford my bill. That's just sad!

How do they expect older people that are on social security to pay that that don't qualify for extra assistance.

As a Vet now on limited income and 2/3 of my energy bill in delevery and supply service fees it seem a bit odd that usage was $600.00

Do I feed my kid's or pay my bill? This is flat out stealing from Northern Energy.

I hope this is able to control the utilities in Montana and keep them at a reasonable rate.

Should have never deregulated the power industry. The proposal for it sounded so good. But here's the reality of it. 1 power company that has a monopoly on Western Mt. MDU isn't much better. No competition, cheaper rates, or better service. Oh and a foreigner owns it now too. What a farce deregulation is. I sign wholeheartedly.

I should have to ask the government for help to pay my power bill, northern energy needs to fix there problem. Also they delayed all of Sanders County's taxes last November because they wanted there taxes lowered.

No one should have to pay an "estimated" price as a utility bill.

We need to protect hard working Montanans from drastic swings and prices for basic utilities.

The price we pay here in Montana is double in price the we paid in Idaho, and my house was way bigger. It ridiculous that working people can't afford to pay the bills.

By estimating January's bill and not even telling us it was an estimate, NWE lulled us into a false sense of security and took away our opportunity to lower our thermostats. They could have told us that they 'Had' to estimate or they could have waited until the truck was fixed to read the meters but they chose to take the action that would be the most profitable to their company. It was not the ethical choice to make!
