We live in the Winston area, and went from 4 people living in the house the previous 7 years, and this last year, only two of us, but our power bill trippled...

We need more options, when only one company has an area locked up they have to much control over the rates. At this point I hate north western energy, and would drop them like a bad habit if I had another choice. Im sick of them taking advantage of having no competition.

For the last nine years that I have owned my home in Missoula, my northwestern energy bill was no more than $250 per month until about six months ago. Now my bill is around $600 per month! I have also done many upgrades to my home sense I have owned it. They put a new meter in on April 2nd, then shut off my power a few days later.I can't afford to pay this any more! It is cheaper to run a gasoline generator. I called them and they stated that they can not help me! We must do something about these thieves!!!

I'm already incredibly struggling to afford a roof over my head, can't even afford food, and am trying to balance barely-above-minimum-wage work and school, and then they throw this giant bill on me that I have no way of paying. This is ridiculous.

NWE stated in many articles that they were willing to help people out but when I called I was told if I didn't pay in full by the 14th they were going to shut the power off. They told me that they couldn't offer anything else but that.

We recently moved back from Seattle area where we came tonexpect this to happen. We we're hoping that Montana was a more fair state to its citizens in regulating the big companies and prohibiting price hikes of this magnitude. Very disappointed..

My bill was barely $80 a month and now we are paying $177! We had to turn our heat OFF!!!! IN THE MIDDLE OF WINTER!!! to even try to afford your outrageous cost!

What Northwestern Energy did is wrong and the funny thing is they did it the same time in 2016! When I called they told me they estimated the meters in January so for this bill I was actually paying for December and January usage as well!
