A degree & higher deserves to be recognised. Teachers receive qualification allowance, we should too

Value our hard working working with our most vulnerable in society with a proper wage after yrs of studying or we will loose them to emigration .

Definetly unfairly paid. So much hard work put in and countless hours.

It's a joke spent 4 years in college, and people with no training doing the same job, for same pay

Studying for 4 years to get a degree as a social care worker is not a joke. Social care profession needs to be recognise like other notable professions

i as a social care student find that it is disheartening that the area that will give me job satisfaction helping people from all walks of life - are treated unfairly.

It is a disgrace to think our profession is not regarded as a area for equal and fair pay.

Its very disheartening to work in a profession where a male care worker with a fetac level 5 gets paid more than a female scw with a 4 year honours degree......a fair payscale needs to be applied across public & private sectors for all

in such a challenging and stressful profession why should we be treated any less than other professions especially after working so hard to obtain a degree. We are caring for societies most vulnerable people and should be paid equally for our hard work and not competing with people who are completely unqualified or even fetac 5 qualifications for minimum paid roles.

I love what I do but I also need to make a life for myself. Studying and working hard for years for my degree I think deserves higher pay and respect .

I'm working as a SCW for the last ten years & we all know the challenges that we face on a daily basis.. I like most other people have taken several pay cuts over the last few years and between one levy and another I am earning significantly less money than I was when I first qualified... We have to fight to be recognised as Social Care Workers and this must be reflected in our salary.

I am a qualified s.c.w and I constantly feel and find that my honours degree that I worked hard for is undermined and not understand. If people only knew and understood and respected what we do then our wage and our title would be so much more.

This is one of the most challenging professon to work in every body knows that they are not going to be millionaire but for the respect and the responsibility that is given it had to be shown and returned not bey the clints but by management and the people that have their hands on the purse strings look around we make you guys look good with all the spin and fugeasy you come out with
