Fair Pay for Faculty at Colorado State University

Thank you for addressing this crucial issue.

Not only are fair wages “fair”, but promotes better faculty and therefore a better University.

Go CSU!

Reward faculty for their teaching with a fair wage, please.

As a teacher of mostly international students, they are continually shocked when I explain that the majority of the instructors at THE UNIVERSITY can barely afford to live in the city that they work in. "But they are at the university," they say. Yes, but this is America. I would like to see CSU be at the front of the movement to remedy the problem of a living wage for instructors.

I have taught as adjunct faculty at several colleges and universities. Also, I have a Ph.D. Pay is a severe problem.

There is no greater service to a community than education. From the comments I read, CSU has lost valuable faculty members due to inadequate compensation. I ask the the administration of the university how they expect to maintain a high academic environment when they have not been able to retain their faculty members. Departments need stability and consistency, not a revolving door! To excel in the collegiate world CSU should strive to be a career destination. Appropriate salaries supporting faculty members commensurate with their own high academic training should always be the number one priority.

I have taught as adjunct faculty and then as a senior teaching appointment at CSU for almost 20 years and there is no way I could support myself, let alone a family on what I make. Yet, I teach more upper division classes than anyone else in my Department.

I was a highly rated and versatile instructor in CSU's English Dept. for many years, and the main reason I left was the comically unethical pay and the problematic system that allows it.

Signing in solidarity, as a mother and K-12 teacher who wants her children and graduates to be taught by happy, well-supported teachers and to appreciate the value of educators.

The teachers I learned the most from and who went so far above and beyond to help their students were all non tenure track faculty.

Parity has to be! And faculty needs to make enough to live in Fort Collins!

Thank you for all efforts toward fair pay and visibility of our labor and expertise. I believe in a culture in which teaching is more celebrated and uplifted as an important career goal for our brightest youths so that we may benefit from an even more aware public, so here's to a brighter future rich with more empowered teachers and more deeply valued teaching ~ thank you! Thank you for doing what's right.

All faculty deserve fair pay for experience and qualifications.

Real universities pay real wages to full-time faculty.

The fact that I have to even sign a petition for this is just dumb.

This is a very just cause and needs the attention as one.
