PETITION IN SUPPORT OF FR. JOHN M. DUFFY

Aug. 22 Anonoymous, I don't blame you for speculating. That’s what I meant when I said that the TRUTH must be KNOWN. Otherwise, it’s not only Fr. Duffy, the VICTIM, who suffers. The FAITHFUL also suffer. Fr. Duffy is NOT DUMB to GAMBLE his last penny on a lawyer to stop Satan from destroying his good name and losing his dignity if his intention is just to get an early retirement package for himself. Did you speculate that probably the ARCHDIOCESE just wanted to GET RID of HIM for a number of reasons? Please see the Aug. 19 comment of Mr. JIM WALKER of UXBRIDGE that starts with these words: "One thing I have learned over the years is the PERSON who UPSETS the "DYSFUNCTIONAL" APPLE CART is looked upon as a delinquent who should be dealt with”.

Why do you need to know? All we need to know is if justice is served.

If you want more information, why stay Anonymous? Come out in the open. Maybe you'll get an answer somehow. Don't be afraid. We are not like dogs who will bite or someone who'll stab you at the back. I'm sure Fr. Duffy's supporters are good Christians and shall not do anything outrageous. By being Anonymous, we don't know who we're dealing with. Friend or foe? What is your interest in this? As supporter of Fr. Duffy, we just want justice. We'll continue to pray for him.

Question: Is Fr. John Duffy negotiating a secret early retirement package for himself with the Archdiocese? Yes or No? We need more information on what is going on here!

We know Fr. Duffy from St Mary Immaculate Church in Richmond Hill. He was the nicest priest you could ever meet.

I have known Reverend Father John Duffy since we moved up to Uxbridge in 2011. In that time, I've probably been in his company more than 230 times if my math is accurate...at Sunday Mass, at St Joseph's Catholic School with our children, at the rectory, at meetings etc. He has enriched our lives immensely and left an extremely positive mark on me and my family. I continue to feel that I can trust Fr. John Duffy 100% - that he would lay down his life for others; for us. I felt immeasurable pride in having him as a pastor and spiritual guide to me and my family. I consider him a friend. We miss him. We are with him in prayer. This situation is perplexing. I will shortly email this type of testimonial to the Archdiocese. Peace and clarity to him, to you all, and to everyone involved.

I want to know who the parishoners are that are spreading calumny about Fr. Duffy and what they are saying.

This case is just another example of a higher power bullying the meak and falsely professing publicly their grave concern for their well-being. Shame on them.

In today’s Daily Mass homily on TV by Bishop WAYNE KIRKPATRICK, he said: "LOVE should be the basis of all we say and do today and everyday”. How nice! Did they give it to Fr. Duffy? And for the prayer of the faithful, Bishop Kirkpatrick prayed: "That the church may continue to follow the way of Christ and inspire the faithful to grow in holiness”. Inspire us Bishop BY COMPASSIONATE ACTIONS and not just by words! "That gov't leaders may demonstrate through their leadership a love of neighbor and foster a sense of unity among those they govern”. The Shepherds of the Archdiocese should DO it and NOT JUST PREACH it! "Those who have been displaced from their homes by war, natural disaster, financial crisis may find adequate, safe accommodations through the generosity and care of Christians”. Well, I hope Fr. Duffy, who’s been displaced from his parish and who is now in deep financial crisis has found an adequate and safe accommodation through the generosity and care of Christians. Mr. Alban Mendonca, of the warfare tactics you listed in your Aug. 20 comment to fight the Archdiocese whom you referred to as the Goliath, I wouldn’t do letters e. and j. Why? To fight the Goliath, according to a friend, is like fighting the MAFIA. Why waste your time with the Archdiocese who had already sentenced Fr. Duffy? - just concentrate on the Papal Nuncio and the Pope. Do you really think that the PRESS hasn’t heard of Fr. Duffy’s plight by now? They are just TOO AFRAID to incur the ire of Toronto’s Goliath. Or perhaps they have a pact of scratch my back and I'll scratch yours. That’s how powerful the current Archdiocese is!

Fr. John Duffy is a true and sincere servant of the Lord. He is a great priest and has done many wonderful things. He is unselfish and is always willing to help others. I support Father John and will do prayer for him.

With profound sadness, I read the information (email) of Fr. John Duffy's suspension from the Archdiocese of Toronto. He is a kind, sincere, holy, dedicated priest and the circumstances surrounding his suspension, are unfounded accusations to defame his noble character. Fr. John gave willingly and unselfishly of his time, whenever necessary and to whomever needed it, in the different parishes to which he was assigned. He is truly a 'Servant of God' and his reputation should be defended, not demeaned or slandered. Hang in there Fr. John and 'fight the good fight'. As always, you are in my prayers.

To the person or persons who are responsible for untruths against this good priest; I suggest you go back and recall the ten commandments and search your soul about the commandment "Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor" May the Lord forgive you! Father John, I support you fully in your fight against this injustice. Hang in there and may the Lord grant you courage and peace!
