PETITION IN SUPPORT OF FR. JOHN M. DUFFY

Fr. Duffy is one of the most caring, compassionate, holy priest I have ever met. I worked with him at St. Boniface School. The children loved him! I got to know him even more when he was also there to help my best friend, Jackie (St. Boniface) struggle with cancer. He presided at her funeral. This is a great injustice. He is in my thoughts and prayers each day!

In 2004 Fr. John Duffy was the priest that welcomed me back, after 18 years of absence, to The Church that Christ founded. It saddens, confuses and distresses me but doesn't surprise me to hear of the events that transpired over the last few weeks. We are in spiritual and moral conflict in our time. There has being few facts, mainly gossip, option and innuendo. If I understand correctly, it seem Fr. is heading down the path of a 'white' martyr possibly 'Red'. Similarly dissident groups and persons scheme to divide the one True and Apostolic Church. Case in point, attacks against Archbishop Cordileone of San-Francisco and other who attempt to uphold the teachings of the Body of Christ, the Catholic Church. I pray Fr. takes this opportunity to turn this into a Christ like teaching moment. I know that may sound glib but it is sincere. I pray, as you told me..'in Gods' Good time not ours'. Padro Pio comes to mind as he accepted the bishops gag order but didn't cave.Likewise St Thomas More did not cave in when standing up to his earthly King. Please know I back you in whatever you choose and pray it is His Will. As you told me ...'All roads lead to Rome'. No Good dead goes unpunished, just look to the Crucifix, Fr. John continue to have faith and preach the Gospel. We really do need you and your special way of exposing the truth. I am delighted to see the outpouring support for my good friend and brother in Christ, John Duffy. There is no question, he needs our support in any way we can humanly afford. And with God's grace and mercy, justice will prevail.

Oh, Filomena, sure there is! I’m pretty sure that they have a tailor-made carpet as the Archdiocese has millions, remember? You’re ABSOLUTELY RIGHT about the evil one wanting division in our Church. That is why the exorcists are extremely busy nowadays because the Devil’s business is booming. Just yesterday, the Devil was on the headline again: http://www.catholicnewsagency.com/news/what-is-the-devils-favorite-sin-an-exorcist-responds-55789/ . According to the Dominican exorcist interviewed in the article, PRIDE is the sin the DEVIL LIKES MOST. Will the SUPERIORS of Fr. Duffy be humble enough to swallow their PRIDE and admit that they have made a mistake? If they CAN'T, then we know whose side they are. But if they can, they’ll be winning the world’s respect and admiration for their humility and courage in accepting their mistake and saying I’m sorry.

The Archdiocese only takes care of who THEY WANT to take care of .... Is there a carpet big enough for all the things they've swept under?? This is exactly what the evil one wants... division within our Church... In due time, justice will prevail... if not here on earth in the life after.... God have mercy on those souls.

To EVERYONE CONSIDERING PRIESTHOOD in the Archdiocese of Toronto: Let it be known that once you get sick, regardless of your excellent CHRISTian performance and being below retirement age, you will be RETIRED by the Archdiocese whether you like or not (in accordance with the terms and conditions of their whims at the time) . That’s how humane and compassionate they are! Your HEALTH CONDITION, by the way, IS DETERMINED BY YOUR SUPERIORS who are holders of doctorates but are not medical doctors. FANTASTIC! eh? Is it any wonder there’s a shortage of priests?

I am quite disturbed to hear about Father Duffy's suspension and am quite confused by it as Father Duffy I got to know at St. Thomas More in Scarborough. He was a wonderful holy priest and always was a very caring and concerned priest to his parishoners, I always looked forward to going to mass on Saturday evenings to listen to his homilies. He really knew how to relate to all of his parishoners. He was very missed by St. Thomas More when he had to move on to another parish. It left quite a void and in fact since his departure my family and I are now parishoners of St. Bartholomew Parish in Scarborough. I really hope and pray that the truth will come out, Father Duffy will be exonerated of any false accusations and will be reinstated to continue his spiritual duties again real soon. We are told there is a shortage of priests and especially really good priests and it would be ashamed the church will be losing Father Duffy if they do not try to correct this problem of the horrible accusations father has had to endure. My prayers are with Father Duffy at this time and the Archdiocese to make it right. God Bless

From all the foregoing info ... Why doesn't the Archdiocese come out in the open and HONESTLY tell why Fr. Duffy is being suspended? Also, why has the Archdiocese forgotten about CHARITY in her treatment of Fr. Duffy? I wonder how many have lost their faith in the Archdiocese and in the Catholic Church because of this?

Fr. John is a very spiritual man and is an inspiration to all, especially the young people.

He should get a fair hearing based on real facts.

The entire situation seems to be wrong. After all his years of service, does he not deserve a hearing from his accusers, be they lay or clergy?

father john has done a lot for the uxbridge parish in his short tenure than has been done in the past 20 years and certainly deserves his day of judgement.

Mr. Anonymous, I have a question for you: The Archdiocese in their circular to the parishioners of Sacred Heart, Uxbridge mentioned that Fr. John Duffy has retired due to his poor health. For a moment, I would believe this. However, I would like to ask that all Retired Priest are taken care off by the "Sheppard's Fund". In this case, why is Father John Duffy without a roof, food and pension.This clearly proves that Archdiocese is giving wrong information. Hence, it is hard for me to believe their written statement for they are contradicting themselves. He may be on the payroll because as per the Employment Standard Act, he is an employee of Archdiocese and he has been suspended. Hence, you got to pay him till you prove he is guilty under the Canon Law. Mr. Anonymous and Mr.O'Connor you are one and the same person. You should be seeing a neurologist or be admitted in the appropriate place. You have no place in the community with good sense. You are one crazy guy on this side of the Pacific ocean. May be dumped out of the luxury liner crossing the ocean. Having said this, I have recalled my donation to Family of faith, stop putting money in the Sunday envelopes and no more for Sheppard's fund also.
