I have known Father John Duffy for 23 years. He is an outstanding priest and a true son of the Church. He has given to those in need, and helped many other priests in their time of trial. What has been done to him is so utterly unjust and it has been perpetuated for years. It is time that the entire situation be looked into. Those who lied in his parish must come forward and must be held accountable for their words. Those who have targeted and wounded this priest will be held accountable and if not on this earth - the life that is coming is eternal and Jesus said to sT. Faustina, ... When I come back I come back as the Just Judge... (I don't have the exact words here) but The Good Lord said (paraphrase)..... 'man does not want to come under my judgement but under my mercy... Heed well these words...

He is not the organizer of this campaign.

I have known Fr. Duffy since 1995-1996 when he was an associate pastor at St. Boniface. He is a kindhearted, honest priest who cares about his parishioners. He is one of the most approachable priests I have ever met. He is one of the reasons my dad became a Catholic, and one of the reasons I became so involved in the Church. Hearing about his dismissal shocked and saddened me. Fr. John will be in my prayers.

I am extremely disappointed by the actions of the Archdiocese of Toronto. To remove Father Duffy for unproven accusations and deny him the right to defend himself is criminal. Father Duffy has provided more guidance, more enthusiasm, and more spiritual inspiration than any priest previously assigned to our Parish. I have been a member of Sacred Heart Parish since birth, and I am deeply concerned that the dreadful treatment that the Archdiocese has bestowed on Father Duffy will destroy the community that he worked so diligently to create. How can a group of "holy men" punish a priest for defending himself? Where is the Christianity that our Church is based upon? Father Duffy has dedicated his life to Christ and deserves respect and compassion, not the self-serving "offers" provided by the Archdiocese . Father Duffy needs our support and our prayers. As he would stand up for any of us, we must stand up for him.

May whoever was responsible for the malicious attack on Fr. Duffy, repent and do their utmost to help clear his name so he can continue to serve God fully as he's been called to do/and as he has so loved doing, as a loyal Roman Catholic priest. No doubt, Fr. Duffy has already forgiven that person and is keeping them in prayer. It would be too late for that individaul to wait till judgment day to say they're sorry for the terrible wrong inflicted on him. Priests like Fr. Duffy, who have spent their lives faithfully in the service of God deserve a better defence. They should have recourse not only to a fair trial but before then even, at the first sign of any trouble, be directed in confidence to an impartial and compassionate church official (or officials) who are truly interested in their well-being and justice being served. How about a department called Aid to Priests in Need? In the meantime, let us all offer Fr. Duffy our prayers, little sacrifices, and Masses, knowing God will use them for His good.

We. the signers of this petition, urge the Archdiocese of Toronto and its officers to undertake all efforts that Fr. John Duffy be given the fair trial that He so much deserve. This has really saddened me. He has been a part of my family even before he was ordained. He chose to stay with my family back home prior to becoming a priest and have therefore known Him as very down to earth and a very descent person in and out. I pray for Him. Would like to take this opportunity to warn you all there is someone asking donation for Fr. John Duffy ( in US$ ). It is FAKE.

In Canada, everyone is entitled to a fair trial before they are given a sentence, including priests. Therefore, Fr. Duffy should be given this chance. I pray that the church authorities who are in charge of this issues will be enlightened by the Holy Spirit so they will re-open the case and give Fr. Duffy a FAIR Trial .

This is the SECOND MODERN DAY CRUCIFIXION OF A BELOVED PRIEST I have witnessed in a short span of time, Our Holy Father ordered his Bishops that if they receive criminal complaints about priests they are to take their information to the police. If this is not the case and I strongly believe it is not the case, the Bishop should be standing up for Fr. John with much vigor. Fr. John and my family go way back and he has always been there for us. We must now give Fr. John all of our sincere support. I am there for you Fr. John. Tim and Marie Flynn
