Fr. John, we have had the privilege of knowing you for over 20 years. When you were called by God to be "Alter Christus," you accepted it with all humility. By God, for all these years, you have imitated Him and all His virtues. You have always put others first, even at the cost of great sacrifice when you were ill. You have been the greatest comfort and support especially during times of illness. You were the stepping stone for the vibrant Parish that we now are. Some of the youth you mentored are still active in the Parish as are the parish communities you encouraged within the Parish. During your tenure as Pastor, your example of love for Our Lord and Mother Mary, fostered two active vocations and three Seminarians. Two of whom are Seminarians to-date. People of all Nationalities and Cultures found a Family and Home in our Parish. Old and young were treated with respect. You were humble, kind and loving but strong and firm when matters were not according to Church teachings.. You were never afraid to stand up for what was right. Stand by your Cross now with courage and strength! You know in your heart the zeal and integrity with which you served God. The souls you served in His Name will be your reward in eternity. Jesus and Mother Mary (whom you love so much) love you in return! So do we! You are and will be a Priest of God forever! We offer you our love, prayers and support always.

I remember Fr. John Duffy at St. Boniface Church to be a very caring priest in dealing with the youth of this parish and being extremely understanding with the elderly in conversation. All who knew him loved him.
We pray to Our Lord that justice will be done and Father will be exonerated from all charges.

Fr Duffy has always exhibited qualities in keeping with Jesus's teachings.I claim
Jesus's promise for him."no weapon formed against you shall prosper and no tongue which rises against you in judgement,you shall condemn.This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord,and their righteousness is from me, says the Lord."(Isaiah 54:17)

We have known Fr. Duffy for 20 years, when he was the associate priest at St. Boniface Church (Scarborough) . He is a hard working pastor/priest, always a good Father to the youth, helping them to grow in their Catholic faith. He supported spiritually and raised funds for the youth at St. Thomas Moore to attend the year 2000 World Youth Day in Rome. I cannot imagine how someone can ever accused him and have so much hatred against him, let God be the judge. Let us all pray for Father Duffy, Amen!

I have know Fr. John since he was a seminarian. There isn't a kinder, gentler, more honest person that I know. He has been very generous with his time and wisdom to many and our family has been lucky to have received his help and prayers through the years. He's not afraid to stand up for the right things, even if it goes against popular status quo.
We need to have more priests not afraid to stand up for what is right, not suspend and discard them without a care.
Fr. John has give so much of his life to show the world the love of God. God Bless you Father John.
