Fair funding for the Vale, this town is run down and needs reviving!

Here in Wales we see at first hand the consequences of having a longterm Labour administration which - by the nature of the Welsh Electoral boundaries - enjoys a massive and apparently unassailable electoral majority. All the worst excesses of such electoral security are evident - arrogance; unaccountability; biased policies aimed at supporting and extending the Labour myth of fairness and equality. One such policy is the unbalanced sharing of resources. Just as the national Labour Party clings to the unbalanced and undemocratic electoral boundaries to seek to improperly achieve power, so the Welsh division of the Labour hegemony carries out similar policies of preferment to subvert the democratic balance of Wales.

Education is so important. This money is much needed in Barry and the Vale. I am calling for a Fair Funding Settlement for the Vale.

I would agree it should be at a similar level to Bridgend.

Barry has been under funded for years as there is no link to the M4 so it continues to be less attractive to industry and airport use. From west Wales and east Cardiff it is easier and cheaper to fly from Bristol. A suitable road from Barry to the M4 is essential. Other areas seem to find funding for this type of project much easier.

I find that an overwhelming majority of people I speak to wish we didn't have a devolved Welsh Assembly

If the vale received more money, perhaps we could enjoy a freeze on our council tax, like others in South Wales.

It is time that the Vale got a look inespecially Cowbridge.

The WG received the funding from Central Gov. to help stop a high increase in rates - but has not passed it on. Being used to light the airport at all hours and run a bus to and from airport whilst stopping our buses. CF62 3AD

I support the aims and views of our MP Mr Alun Cairns on this matter. The differential is growing and as a direct result all around we view a backwards trend in services and support. I hope popular support is gained by highlighting the clearly unfair funding. VoG residents should be populating this petition, lethargy leads one way.

I support this petition to review the level of funding forwarded to the Vale of Glamorgan. Whilst I understand that public funding is difficult at this moment, it does appear that the Vale is suffering unfairly from the current distribution formula used by the Welsh Government, and that this must be addressed to ensure that all Welsh domiciled persons through their county receive an equitable slice of the funding cake to ensure that essential services are not cut indiscriminately arising from the current Welsh Government finding arrangements.

Funding per head should be equal across all of the borough councils.

The Vale has always been the poor relation to Cardiff even before the Vale split from Cardiff 20 years ago. If nothing is done now then when the Welsh assembly decide to merge the Vale with Cardiff again the position will worsen and the vale will become the dumping ground for Cardiff again.

Funding should be fair and calculated on need.

The funding formulae ought to reflect need and should be equitable

I agree with your petition. There should be a fair funding settlement for the vale of glamorgan. We need more money for roads and local services.
