Fair funding for the Vale

I support in what you are doing for the vale of glamorgan and will encourage other people to sign your petition regards andre

Alun Cairns is right to fight this inquality and discrimination against an area that is perceived as wealthy by the Welsh Government but is in fact, just as vulnerable as any other area in Wales

MY CONCERNS ARE FOR BARRY TOWN .WE ARE DESPERATELY NEEDING MORE DONE TO UP LIFT OUR TOWN ,AS THE CAPITAL OF THE VALE WE ARE LOOKING DECIDEDLY JADED COMPARED TO COWBRIDGE AND OTHER PLACES

Why are we being discriminated against. We should receive an equal share of the funding.

All monies should be shared out equally. Areas of the Vale struggle as much as many others in Wales. Jane Hutt is a pathetic example of a local AM not willing to help her local community!

We have deprived areas in Barry and should receive more funding than Cardiff.

Fair rates for our taxes.

I fully support Mr Cairns proposal. Barry is only 8 miles from Cardiff and could be considered to be within the 'commuter belt' for the city. Such a disparity of funding does seem to be disproportionate.

Very saddened about the underfunding. I thought Barry would have become a smaller version of Cardiff Bay, after all there's no shortage of visitors, even more if more and more ammenities were there, especially in the summer.

I wonder what this means for us in the Vale. Perhaps we are considered second class citizens? After all Cardiff is the Capital not us!

Barry has become a huge town, it is vital that it have some money injected into it to provide services for leisure and tourism. It is ridiculous for a town this size for instance not to have a cinema. so many people are lethargic and disappointed, and understandably so , as they have been deprived of so much for too long!

It is a matter of urgency that the underfunding of the Vale is brought to an end. Fair and comparable funding with Cardiff and Bridgend is imperative so that the Vale and Barry can be regenerated after decades of under investment and neglect.

It's truly shameful the way the Vale of Glamorgan Council's funding has been calculated and decided. The Vale of Glamorgan residents are just as deserving and needy as those in Cardiff or Bridgend, yet when the money is dished out someone's calculator at the Welsh Assembly has sadly gone awry. Needless to say that's surprising given the Welsh Assembly has voted itself around £19m of our hard earned cash over the last couple of years kitting out their already resplendent and well equipped offices. Oh dear me. One wonders what will happen when the Welsh Assembly gets the tax raising powers they're seeking? How much more money will go astray e.g. the Welsh assembly's NHS Wales nearly £1billion cuts made or by them pumping public money into uncosted and not thought through schemes like the £53m paid to buy Cardiff Aiport. The Welsh Assembly got elected without in my view a mandate to govern. Polling just over 12% of the vote doesn't amount to a mandate to govern, so the Welsh Assembly should be extremely nervous about the referendum the extra tax raising powers require.

What is the logic for differences in funding? Where is the incentive for prudent spending?

I see no fair reasoning to support the Vale having less funding per person than any other area of Wales. It is another example of why the Welsh assembly should be dissolved as its costs outweigh its benefit.

The funding formula clearly discriminates against the people of the Vale.
