Fair funding for the Vale

Enough is enough. It's about time the Welsh Assembly had a good look at the Vale and stopped regarding the residents of this area as being well off. Our roads are a disgrace, our bus service has been cut drastically in rural areas, the whole infrastructure of the area needs vast improvement. Jane Hutt lives in the Vale where is her voice in all this funding unfairness.

The Vale has always been seen by the WAG as either Conservative and rich or a labour led NOC and therefore a lap-dog to the Labour led WAG.

We are supposed to live in a fair society, therefore WAG should give the same grat per capita to all Welsh Unitary Authoroties.

Agree and about time Vale of Glamorgan was seen as in desperate need of funding.

Why should the Vale be unfairly penalised?

Whole heartedly agree with the lack of funding - Michaelston-le-Pit must have some of the worst roads in the UK let alone the Vale of Glamorgan

Let's have a fair deal from the welsh assembly. Just because we live in the Vale of Glam does'nt mean we are all rich.

Fairness no matter where you live.

As a single parent working full time in the Vale, (since my children were very young) I am outraged by this. I do not support Alun Cairns as a rule, but am happy to see that for once he is standing up for the majority. I work for a local children's charity in one of the most deprived areas of the Vale and see first hand the effects of food and fuel poverty. I am also on a low wage but I pay full council tax. I see no improvements with the £100+ that is taken in council tax each month at the moment. What a wasteful, shameful council we have!

This funding disparity is indefensible and should be addressed immediately. What are our local executives doing about this?

This used to be a lovely community in which to live. Now it is all Newydd Housing, drug dealers and people coming out of prison. I know they have to live somewhere, but why put them all here? There are still some good people here, but they are fast moving away.I would too if I could afford to do so The streets are constantly used to dump rubbish, there is dog mess everywhere you go. A group of us got together and challenged Newydd about this, for a little while things seemed to get a bit better, but now it's as bad as ever. If we stopped paying Council Tax they would soon send decent people to prison. ITS NOT FAIR AND NOT AN EVEN PLAYING FIELD.

It is high time that the Vale was treated more fairly,especially by politicians who are always more keen to increase their own finances than those of the residents of the Vale. Is it because they consider us all to be wealthy toffs! Well we are not.

This is totally unfair to be receiving less funding than other locations. Alun you will have my support. Good luck.

Local politicians seem to think the Vale is a wealthy area. This is certainly not true, there is poverty public transport. Residents have to travel considerable distance if they need hospital treatment and many villages have limited local amenities. The Vale desrves to be treated on an equal footing with Cardiff.

As a long-time resident of the Vale of Glamorgan, I am astonished by the poor level of support the Vale gets from the Government.

This is a very unfair system This is going to result in among other things a very large increase in council tax again this year enough is enough

I thoroughly endorse this petition and regret the actions of the Vale of Glamorgan cabinet in imposing further increases to the Council Tax when they should be be striving to ease the financial load of the people they represent.

There are areas of deprivation in Barry, Vale of Glamorgan and as such funding should be given to help raise the standards for the area and the residents living in them
