Fair funding for the Vale

I first wrote a letter to the council about this issue on 17th March 2000, at that time it was called a 'Damping Down Sceme', and we are still funding other overspending authorities by any other name.

We need more funding although the Vale is in some parts is rich we still have poor people in need of funding and support

I believe in fairness for all

The level of funding for the populace of The Vale by the Welsh Government is a disgrace . This is a matter for the Assembly to address . Not all people who live in the Vale are well off and the Assembly would do well to remember this.

I support the campaign for fair funding for the Vale

We have seen above inflation rises for years it is about time that the council looked at making cuts in a more realistic way . Maybe look to how much they waste on the wages they pay themselves, are they worth it, I dont think so.

About time this was rectified, it is so unfair.

I agree we need more school spaces and upgrading of the school buildings This may possibly help with all the extra childtren anticipated with the new housing planned in the Vale. The buses for rural areas need to be rescheduled to cope with extra children and pensioners or other people who have no transport to the the nearest town.

How unfair! Why is the Vale not funded fairly?

While Schools and Health are important do not forget us pensioners having worked 55 years I feel we are forgotten.Transport is very importantant as are the facilities for leisure for the elderly

There should be a fair & equal distribution of funds from the Welsh government across all counties

Why should the Vale of Glamorgan be treated so differently?

Its about time we had a fair share of the 'kitty' for this area.

Let's have fair funding for the Vale of Glamorgan.

The Government is being very unfair in not allocating a proper grant to Vale of Glamorgan.

in a time where wage increases are non existent where will increases of utilities stop. we need more jobs which could be found if more money was to be ploughed into areas where it is needed. stop making the working class poorer.

All we request is fair play and parity with other elsh County Councils - simple.

The vale may include some affluent areas, however to it also includes Barry and other areas of deprivation. Play fair and give us a fair level of funding.

Whilst the example of a new school would be very welcome especially since the closure of the St Cyres site in Dinas Powys, Barry in particular would benefit greatly from spending, other than (yet more) housing. If the vale were to gain funding I would like to see some portion of it put into leisure facilities which have been stripped from the town in recent years due to lack of funding. For those of us who live and work in Barry, we now have no cinema and the Island is an utter embarrassment, add to this the threat of closure to vale libraries and we have become little more than a ghost town with people's needs completely ignored by local government.
