When the thankful react button came out, I was overjoyed. Finally, a way to express my gratitude for comments, pictures, and brilliant verbal expressions on statuses. I sometimes suffer from being melancholy. When I hit that thankful react, I found myself elated, excited about life. My life was changed for the better.

Then yesterday, May 16, 2017, all of my new found joy was suddenly stripped away from me. I can no longer be thankful for my friends and family. I can no longer tell strangers I'm thankful for their selfies. My friends from high school sharing baby pics? Angry react for you! Mr. Zuckerberg, your thankful react was making my online community a better place. In a world full of angry reacts, we need the thankful react button back. Please bring it back.
