Please consider the safety of flight attendants & passengers, exhaustion of overworked flight attendants compromises the safety of all involved.

Making a flight attendant work 19 hours without a break is ridicules, yet that is exactly what I did last week and this was totally legal. I was then released to my 11 hours crew rest before going back in call for 24 hours.… this is ok with the FAA. Would you expect some in the fire services or police or a hospital employee to work those same hours? Yet we are doing the same thing up there. If there is an unplanned emergency on landing and your flight attendant as all half asleep because they are so overworked who's going to save the hundreds of lives on that plane? Who's going to make those split second choices that might save someone's life? This is wrong and needs to be changed!

It is not safe to be on call 24 hours a day am/pm is better. I was once called at 10pm for a 0419 checkin. I could not sleep therefore I ended up going to work with more than 24 hours without sleep. Not safe.
