In recent months the level of Break ins and Crime has been on the rise. Walkinstown Neighbourhood Watch page has received several messages from residents who no longer feel safe in their homes. Many residents feel that there isn't a visible Garda presence in the area and that response times are poor. The feedback from local residents continues to confirm that our shared concerns regarding public safety are widespread. I have begun the process of documenting these accounts to present them during upcoming discussions with relevant authorities.

As the mother of a young child I am very concerned about the upsurge in crime around Walkinstown. It is becoming less safe for families around here.
I live on Thomas Moore Road and I see the Garda maybe twice a week as they are cutting through to the main road. Not enough!
I was mugged over a year ago on the Avenue. I grew up in Walkinstown and felt safe until then. The guy was never caught. All I see on the neighborhood watch page is cars damaged and houses being broken into. More Garda presence is needed.
my 80 year old fathers house was broken in to and he was told someone would be with him in an hour. Crumlin garda station to walkinstown is a 2 minute drive. Disgraceful
I totally agree that we need more garda presence around walkinstown. The rate of crime is disturbing. People living alone and especially the elderly are frighted to leave their own homes in case they return to the home broken into. This is not acceptable in this day and age.

3 fellas tried to break into our house on parade last year at 4 in the morning we were all in bed lucky my son heard a noise and they had front door opened. They ran when he came downstairs just as well or they could have attacked him. Not a nice feeling to know they could get the door opened
