Hi Doreen, Southwark Council is supporting both options, Old Kent Road and ours. It would be amazing to get both, but given the cost, this is really unlikely. So if there has to be only one route, it should go to serve Camberwell, which has greater density of population, and great needs for better access to our hospitals.

Have waited many decades for a tube line through Camberwell, so strongly support this sorely needed initiative. It's not clear whether the Old Kent Road option would exclude the Camberwell option, or whether there could be two branch lines on the extension: this needs to be clarified. Possible sites for station location in Camberwell? Two sites spring to mind, both on the Camberwell Road: a) Former ABC cinema building; or b) Former Father Red Cap public house (corner of Camberwell Green).

Having a tube line coming through Camberwell and Peckham would link what is a vibrant part of Southwark with the Capital. As stated elsewhere transport holds back the area commercially and socially. Being linked to the tube system would enable those at present struggling to live here and work in the city and cope with the limited transport links that exist. Rather than generate new areas attention should be paid to the existing needs here in camberwell and peckham.

I moved here in 2001 and always looked wistfully at the bus depot on Camberwell New Road as the original stated site for the tube station. This plan has been about since the 1960s. If you can do Crossrail (which they sort of can), they can put Camberwell and Peckham on the underground. Please!

A station in Camberwell would serve a huge area where road transport has been strangled by the narrowing of both the Camberwell roads and Walworth Road. It can take nearly an hour to get through.

Camberwell tube has been an idea that has been proposed many times since World War II and rejected. If we unite in large enough numbers, and are persistent, then it will go through this time. It will be a great advantage to the people of Camberwell and to those that work here.

Yes! It would be great to extend the line to Camberwell and beyond!

Having this extension will be a huge benefit to the community of Peckham and Camberwell and especially to the the healthcare users and staff of King's College Hospital Foundation Trust.
