I strongly support the development of a bike pathway to Otaki from Peka Peka. It is essential that this route be developed as a part of the road develment project.

Since M2PP shared pathway opened I have used it twice a week to bike from Raumati to Waikanae. Being able to bike safely to Otaki would be such a bonus.

Let's repeat the successful shared path model that goes from Raumati to Peka Peka. It will make cycling and walking so much safer.

A Cyclepath to Otaki is essential for the residents and the District and should be a part of the build of the next section of the expressway.

The shared path must continue it is essential to the integrity of the whole project and to the uncertain future we all face - it may become the most important part of the whole roadway system!!

I am a resident of Te Horo beach and we NEED this. There is no public transport up here so we need a safe place for biking as an option for transportation

Definitely support this - the incremental costs would be small and look how well uased the Mackays to PP is being used. A great way to get people out and moving.

Kia ora,
There are many sound reasons why the Kapiti Expressway cycle way should be extended from Pekapeka to Otaki:
doing it now will be less expensive that creating it in years to come
a cycle way of 16 kilometres or more attracts cyclists from other areas to visit to ride which is great for tourism
getting more people out walking and cycling makes a healthier population which reduces the Health Budget
providing more cycle-ways encourages more people onto their bikes for recreation or going to work which decreases the number of cars on the roads.
Cyclists and walkers sharing the road from Pekapeka to Otaki is just too dangerous.
Nga mihi,

Shameful not to continue the wonderful shared path created for M2P Ewy, and missed opportunity to do the job properly. Money? Short-sight? Both? How about revisiting that flawed decision and putting it right for all of us in Kapiti.
