It would be most disappointing if the new section did not have the same community connecting shared path that is such a fundamental feature of the Mackays to Peka Peka. I'm shocked this is not in the plan.

It makes sense to continue the shared path to Otaki. In particular, this would eliminate crossing the risky SH1 Otaki River bridge.

In the interests of fitness for everyone in the area

Extending the cycle/walk/bridle pathway through to Otaki would be fantastic! It's a great opportunity for the community to enjoy the outdoors, and also gives people the option of walking/cycling/riding to their destinations instead of driving, therefore much better on the environment and also our health system!

Yes please, we need that last 10km to Otaki. We have already ridden the new M2PP pathway a few times and know of people who come from Levin to cycle it too. Very important to our family.

The new shared horse riding/walk/cycle path on the expressway is brilliant and to continue it to Otaki would open up a whole new space for locals to enjoy their surroundings.

Our children have to be able to cycle between Waikanae and Te Horo and Te Horo to Otaki for lessons. We work in the city and this is a major problem. Pleeeeeease provide our children with a cycle way to safely travel.

Finish the second stage to the standard of the first stage, don't start cutting corners now you're at the northern end our district.

We must take the opportunity to extend the pathway (including for horses)

We definitely need this extension- it would be ludicrous not to do it!

It just doesn't make sense not to extend this if it doesn't get extended it can only be attributed to short sighted lunacy.

Your consideration in how extending the cycle way will positively impact our local communities connecting Ōtaki with the rest of Kāpitī is required. Not much mention has been given to how extending this pathway can open up access to those who would otherwise be unable to use a painted cycle strip on a road. Elderly, youth and those of our community whom would access such an asset deserve consideration. I have seen those who utilise mobility scooters and the likes enjoy new the cycle way - why you would deny those in Ōtaki and it's sounds the same access to their community? While great strides are being made in communities across New Zealand to ensure accessibility for Disabled people to their communities, it's seems that, for our community this is not on Nathan Guys, the Government or Land Transport agenda currently. Extending the cycle way at the same time as extending the express way, would mean increasing access to various communities assets, connecting communities in ways that is well over due (particularly with the lack of public transport) and enables numerous members of our communities to access each other. It would be fantastic to see those is the position to influence change to do so. Connectivity to community is vitally important (as outlined in the UN convention on the rights of persons with disability - and the New Zealand Disability strategy) Connectivity to ones community surely has long term health benefits and embraces a more holistic perspective. Regards.

Make it happen! This will benefit the Kapiti community hugely providing a safe shared pathway that will encourage more people to get out and enjoy it.

For equity for all Kapiti communities the shared the pathway should be extended to Otaki. The economic, social and environment are obvious for all Kapiti residents.
