Please hurry my daughter was born on the 14th of January 2017 and she doesn't want to go with anybody we have a special bond a mother should have a year home with a baby a baby need it's mother

I agree that maternity leave should be extended to give mother and child the opportunity to bond. Fathers should also be granted at least a month paternity leave to bond with child also. In Canada maternity leave is for 1 year with fathers being able to split this time if desired

I wholeheartedly agree with mothers being given 6 months instead of 3 months maternity leave and fathers having 2 week paternity leave. I am a mother and I know and understand the challenges of breastfeeding your young baby.

This is a great cause. I am not a mother as yet but hopefully soon I will be on this journey and therefore felt the need to voice my opinion. I have seen many of my friends struggle to balance going back to work and having to put their baby in the nursery sooner rather than later. Most times expectant mothers go on Maternity leave before they reach the nine month mark which means less time home to really nurture and get their babies on a schedule and also prepare to transition them from Brest milk to formula. I agree also that fathers need Paternal leave to help their partner cope and care for their bundle of joy. With this initiative I believe this would help the mother in terms of not being too overwhelmed or may even help with post par tam depression just having the support of their partner.

I agree wholeheartedly that mothers should be given the option to had six months maternity leave. It takes nine months or three quarters of a year to grow a tiny human. Why should we only get one quarter to finally hold them in our arms?

Child bearing and delivery is especially tough for those few months 6 months to me is still not enough for a recovering mother! However I think we should at least try for more will lead to better mental health and baby overall development.

I agree maternity leave should be a MIN of 6 months, other countries get an entire year.
