Extend Paid Maternity Leave in Barbados!

Totally agree with this.

Babies need all the time they can get with their mothers.

This will be a very good idea,because new mothers need more than 3 months to spend with their new born.

This can go a long way toward supporting mothers who want to breastfeed but find the transition back to work to be prohibitive.

Long overdue change, working moms deserve much better.

As a mother of 2 children I did wish my maternity leave at home with them was longer, I feel it would have been more beneficial to my children, myself and my family as a whole. I was fortunate to be able to pump my breastmilk at work twice a day to continue feeding my children, but not everyone has that opportunity.

This is a fantastic idea I wish I had this opportunity with my 2 children.

If we are push baby friendly at our main hospital (QEH) . Encouraging mothers to breastfeed for 6 month we need to give them the best opportunity. Healthy babies healthier community in the next 20 years

I believe that women should have 6 months maternity leave.

I support this 100% as I believe within the first 6 months is a crucial stage mainly for the development, bond and nourishments required for both mother and baby to be healthy and happy!!

Breast is Best!

Recently the Ministry of Health was heard to be encouraging exclusive breastfeeding. Not really possible if the mother has to go back to work after 3 months especially when they work with heartless, insensitive slave drivers.

I believe it should be for a year like Canada

I agree with this petition to increase the maternity period from 3 months to 6 months

I agree mothers should have at least six month paid leave to breastfeed their little ones. Only wish this happened a long time ago.

I support this fully. The bonding experience between mother and child, and father and child, in this initial time period is of the utmost importance.
