I totally agree with this petition.I have two kids and it was difficult for me to continue breastfeeding after returning to work within three months. I breastfed for a maximum of four months in both instances.

Developed countries like Canada encourage a longer leave for maternity and it allows for a smoother transition for both mother and baby. Barbados should become a leader in using this policy in the caribbean.

I agree especially with the paternity leave I believe however it should be moved to 4 weeks for men

I truly believe the legislation should be amended. 3 months to 6 months paid maternity leave

This should be mandatory throughout the entire US.

I agree breastfeeding is the best option for babies

I fully support this initiative, as it gives mothers & fathers time to developers that bond, & I believe this will also give mothers enough time to adjust going back into the work setting, and allowing parents enough time to find suitable & responsible day care facilities.

I am so excited about this. Just a few weeks ago I was discussing this topic with some working women and they all agreed it should be at least 6 months. I fully support this cause.

I do believe it would be beneficial for the babies to help develop their immune systems better by breast feeding a little longer in order to battle most colds and sickness prone to toddlers
