Extend Paid Maternity Leave in Barbados!

I think it's required as 3 months isn't enough time to bond with you new born.

As a mother with 2 children, I strongly recommend

3months is way too short for mummy to return to work. Mummy's body wouldnt gave healed/ recovered properly & breastfeeding helps with recovery & baby needs feeding on demand - mum needs to be available & more importantly to establish a bond with each other. 6 month maternity will be more adequate. This should have been the minimum from the beginning..what exactly are you supposed to do with a 3 month old infant when both parents are at work???

I totally agreed that 6 months should be given for maternity leave.

It's about time. So many studies have shown the benefits of and recommend breastfeeding for at least 6 months. How can this be possible if the mother must return to work after 3 months in order to financially support her family.
