Bonding is a very important part of a child's life and early childhood development. Parents should enjoy every moment of time spent with their children. I support this petition.

...because the benefits outweigh the sacrifice that will have to be made.

Pregnant with my second child, hubby and I could not imagine going back to work at 3 months or before... added vacation takes it up to about 4 and 1/2 BUT, 6 months paid maternity leave would be awesome for new mothers and by extension, her family. I SUPPORT this 100%

I agree, I had a hard time with my daughter because she wouldn't take the bottle and I had to go back to work...6-12 months I great for maternity leave.

It is a cause I truly believe in. If we say children are our future then.we need to spend those formative months with them. 3 months is not enough time.for the child nor is it for the mother. It is mentally, physically and emotionally taxing for the mother. Furthermore if you want mother to breastfeed more then you cannot serious think 3 months is enough time.

I strongly agree that maternity leave should be increased to at least 6 months for the health of both the mother and baby.

As a father I don't just support this initiative, I welcome it and hail it as a much needed reform to help build stronger families in Barbados. Let's do this and do this right for the future generations to come.
