Express Concern about the Bareland Condo Development - Oceans Landing Private Estate

Shame on this developer. Likely another come-from-awayer with their own agenda… money and greed… disrupting our beautiful natural quiet serene environment for their own interest!!!

I am concerned about the stress this project will post to the peninsula's wetlands and ecology, the danger posed to wildlife due to increased traffic, the pressure on groundwater, particularly during the summer months, and the precedent this project will establish for other developments that may be proposed for Second Peninsula, First Peninsula, and similar rural areas.

I support the petition against the condo development

Second Peninsula does not have the infrastructure to handle the vast increase in number of people this development will create. There will be at least 60 new cars on a road that already has intense traffic. There is no where to build a new road or create a better system for cars to drive. In addition, Second Peninsula has no water in the summer. Everyone's wells go dry. It cannot handle 25 new homes on 27 acres. Please don't let this happen. It is going to cause so many problems on this beautiful peninsula.

Enough is enough. The South Shore is a gem and this is what attracts people. Once it is no longer the gem - reasons why people come here - space, tranquility, uniqueness, cultural aspects, etc. There will be no reason to reside here. Case in point - Halifax. No character , historic culture and reference removed. Could be any city, anywhere.

Can't believe this loophole is possible in this day and age. I feel like our community is the victom of a B and E.

This is an unfortunate development that should never have been approved. I agree with the points outlined in detail in the petition. I live nearby in Maders Cove.

Our family has been on Second Peninsula for nearly 100 years, and have seen several farm properties developed into a few residential lots over the years, but this proposal is far beyond any previous development on the Peninsula and I am in full agreement with the concerns expressed in this letter.

totally inappropriate location for such a project

Signed as a long-term resident of Second Peninsula. Would set a poor precedent for the county if approved, MODL and other Lunenburg County residents should be concerned! Environmental concerns should also be top of mind.

This development is simply not consistent with the way of life on Second Peninsula. Thai must be stopped.

This development is in consistent with land use in this ecologically sensitive area. Water, septic and wetlands are all an issue and there has been no information forthcoming regarding how this theses issues are to be sustainably managed.

I live at 41 Sand Dollar Lane off Holder Rd. which borders the Hammersley property.

Apply the intended regulation and oversight.

This needs to be halted at all costs.

Points presented are logical and the environmental impact is concerning. The project seems ill-thought through and the scale of it inconsistent with the area.

These developers are powerful and out of control. Leave Second Peninsula alone, it is one of the most beautiful and unspoiled rural areas that we locals have left to enjoy. Our Municipal Government needs to muscle up and slow down these greedy developers.

I own property abutting the proposed development and strongly object to its density. I support and agree with all the concerns hereby expressed.
