I want change for the future of all the kids in the fresno area. Kids deserve the best, they are our future. FUSD is a big district that is supposed to serve thousands of kids. This district if failing this kids and their parents. Teach them how to read and written stop worrying about teaching them about racism and hate.

The failure of the Fresno Unified School District student test scores is an indicator current leadership has and continues to fail. A complete overhaul of leadership is imperative. A new outside resource to lead the district is drastically needed.

The best candidate may be internal, but let a public and wide search vet that out.

If we truly are focused on FUSD obtaining the most qualified candidate, then open the search up nationwide. I am not discounting the capabilities of those in the Central Valley and would like to see internally who may have fresh ideas for Leadership. However, simultaneously seek out external candidates as often it builds the Valley into a better place to have external candidates bring in their fresh ideas of success to a stagnant operation.

It is essential in all endeavors to strive for the best possible outcome. Fresno Unified has failed the community’s residents in general and its young people in particular, for some 50 years. To wit… Clovis District. When I first moved to Fresno, some 35 years ago, while looking for a place to live… I always heard: “If you have kids, you’ve got make sure you’re in the Clovis School District. And that reality, and it is not perception, has continued to this day. A good education is the most precious gift that we can give our children… they are our future leaders. They are the ones who will be in charge of your future, your so-called Golden Years. And of course their own future. An excellent education is essential for the well-being of a successful Society. Please do the right thing. Open the search to find the very best and brightest to fill this so very critical position. When failing in that you are failing in your sacred obligation to provide our community's families and children with the best qualified Superintendent available in our Great Nation. Trustees are responsible to their communities for the quality of education provided in local schools. Do not fail in that! Open the search Nation wide. And if you voted against that… there is no shame in changing your mind. There is, however, shame in not giving our Community’s Residents and our Children the best possible education which is essential for the success of an individual and ultimately our Country. Do the right thing!

Fresno Unified should hire a superintendent that will also supply our teachers.

The students at FUSD deserve the best available Superintendent. The only way to ensure that is to conduct a full search from both internal and external candidates as one simultaneous process. I know my Mother, former Trustee Ryan would have said the same.

This decision completely contradicts the wishes expressed by community who invested HOURS of their time to ensure their needs and wants were heard. Absolutely shameful and disgusting.

There has to be a more qualified candidate than Misty Her.

I'm the most ignorant and illiterate president ever. If I don't win, it's "stolen", not beause the majority in this country hates me. Hamberders for everyone!

I retired from teaching in FUSD after 27 years in 2022. I don’t believe anyone in our district will shake things enough in order to take back control of schools. The parents and students run the schools. Teachers have no rights. Administrators are afraid of their supervisors. The situation is stagnant. Learning is not taken seriously and the chosen curriculum is outdated or ineffective in some subjects. Phones need to stay at home and not allowed in the classroom. As everyone knows, phones are used to bully, play jokes, get other students in trouble, or to use TikTok, YouTube, etc. FUSD needs strong leadership, but also focusing on kindness, giving back, community service, and accountability. Classrooms are out of control and no one seems to listen or care. Thanks for your consideration, Susan Koontz
