If the best is out there, why not see what's available? I'd think it's what's in the best interest of our students.

Of course the search shoukd be nations wide. Our rate for students passing math and reading are appalling what has the present Superintendent been doing all this time shikd serving. Change is needed

Stop the compadrismo! Have you ever been a teacher? Have you ever spent a day subbing at any of the schools in your region? You are happy to take money and all the person that go with being a trustee that you want another loser to kowtow to you so you can be re-elected.

Fresno Unified should consider external candidates for two reasons:
To ensure the best-qualified candidates have an opportunity to apply.
To validate the selection of an internal candidate who had to compete with other strong candidates to get the job.

I have 3 kids one in high school, one in middle school and one in elementary school. We have a right to decides in how the applicants are chosen. Our kids are the ones who benefit or suffer should the wrong candidate is chosen.

Bob Nelson was a huge mistake. I pulled my kids from the district due to his horrible leadership, and the horrible direction the school board has taken this district. With the size of this district you need to select the right candidate not “the best we can find within the district.” Stop trying to put your friends in the leadership chair!! The kids deserve better! That’s why I’m signing this.
