If the intention is to modernise the management of the Exe, then there should be no exception for the Earl of Devon. Paras 17aiv and 63 should be dropped. It seems that the whole thing is a sledgehammer to crack a nut and will to prove very expensive for no appreciabkle gain.

I strongly object, this will take the freedom enjoyed by water users for 100s of years, where will it end

Don't damage the use of the exe by charging for right to use

I strongly oppose the introduction of the measures and restrictions. As a Watersports instructor and Senior Coastal Watersports manager, I condemn the regulations as purely a money making exercise for the authorities. This is unacceptable and decreases water use which is a popular past time activity for many residents. The use of the water provides physical health, wellbeing, and mental health benefits. Imposing restrictions will reduce the number of water users and deminish the character of the local community which is water based, and has survived without such regulations for hundreds of years without issue.

It's going to Destroy the river Ex Community . Each little inlet or Dock Has centuries old characters Traditional ways . The people pay to use are true boaters. Fishermen and sports men women children. Taking away a true joy For those who mostly don't use it or have Zero interests in the Estuary . The business Community. All that have used the Estuary for 60 plus years iv known . Have done fine .

No more control is necessary! That’s basically it! The whole river is actually controlled by the people interested. What will paying more achieve!?

No need for more control and bureaucracy, likely creating more expenses and limitations for Estuary users.

Dear Sir / Madam, This is lacking in clarity and the implications should be cleary spelt out. Further stealth taxes are not welcome to locals who use and care for the river and enjoy the liberties of being able to enjoy and use it daily. We do not wish to be the next Salcombe with tourist tax. Perhaps appropriate for Salcombe but not the Exe. Best, Amanda Floyd

I am concerned that this HRO will introduce excessive bureaucracy and restrict river usage by private boat owners over time.
