Protect the Exe: Stop Excessive Control & Charges from the Proposed HRO

Use of waters should be free

The river is enjoyed by many and does not require this heavy and costly bureaucracy

Leisure activities in general should be encouraged and people wishing to do so shouldn’t be penalised. As with the appalling provision for boaters (dangerous slipway, limited and expensive parking on slip and camperdown terrace) this does not attract visitors to make the most of the marine environment in Exmouth. More people using it equals more people spending in the local economy. The council seems very shortsighted when it comes to this. Take a look at provision and encouragement in USA or Australia. Ours is so poor and limiting and restricts it only to the well off already.

I strongly object. It's the public's right to freely use the waterways.

This should not be allowed to happen .. it would be an overreach of powers

I can’t see any benefits to river users through the introduction of charges other than finding more council salaries which will be needed to collect the charges and police enforcement. All Exe estuary area residents (Exeter, East Devon and Teignbridge) and visitors and local tourism businesses benefit from the canal, river and estuary so it should be funded through general council tax.

Against any change

Leave the Exe alone. Powderham has been getting free mooring funds for far too long with no return, that should also be looked into.

Incompetence and impartiality have been shown for years . There is no trust with the Harbour board

Local watersports and boating user of the Exe Estuary and surrounding area.
