Protect the Exe: Stop Excessive Control & Charges from the Proposed HRO

Exe estuary already beautifully monitored and respected by locals and visitors alike. Current imposed restrictions (eg. RSPB, speed limits, harbour patrol, seasonal landing in certain areas, fishing bylaws) already govern the overall environment and I would be interested to view the records regarding any such breaches of such restrictions that have been logged over the last 20 years. I don't feel that the estuary activity overall, warrants this potential money making scheme.

I don’t understand why water sports users are being punished when the entirety of Exeter uses the Estuary for cycling and walking. This is definitely a case of the minority being punished.

As a young watersports enthusiast, I cannot afford to pay fees to go paddle boarding or dingy sailing. Why are water ports users getting punished when everyone in Exeter uses the estuary for walking and cycling.

Watersports users are already charged in the form of car parking fees by the council. Wind/Kitesurfers are migratory having been one for 30 years. They simply go where it’s easiest/best conditions. If you charge them more, they simply go somewhere else and you get no income for the council, town of Exmouth or surrounding businesses. Why punish water sports users, when everyone from the city of Exeter use the estuary for walking, cycling and bird watching! This is already paid for in our council taxes!!

The River Exe needs to remain open to the public.

Just a bad idea for those who appreciate the sea and spend lots of time enjoying it.

The proposal has been deliberately been hidden from the public so the closing date will pass and objections won’t be heard

As an owner of a Mooring at starcross I strongly object to the city council trying to charge to use the river

I object to the proposals to have to pay to use the river

This is a case of clear overreach. We should be encouraging outdoor activity, not placing artificial barriers in the way of people's recreation.

There is no provision of safety or cleaning/upkeep provided by Exeter City Council on the estuary. They seem to see it a s a resource that can be monetised for their benefit.

We don't need this, as it's another restrictions on our use of our waters..
