Globally 1 child under the age of five becomes a victim of child
mortality after every 3 seconds…
In Pakistan
1 child becomes a mere statistic on the child mortality count after every
minute…
Pakistan
has the fourth largest number of under-five deaths in the world with the
under-five death rate in Pakistan
being 94 per 1000 live births, and the neonatal mortality rate (i.e. deaths at the time of birth) is 54 per
1000 live births.
Millennium Development Goal 4 demands that child mortality
is reduced by two third by year 2015. Achieving this MDG means, saving the lives of almost 260,000
children each year.
It is the
responsibility of EVERY ONE to sign this petition showing national commitment
with the cause of reduction in Child Mortality. Your support will enable us to build pressure on the Government of Pakistan as well as national and international community to
allocate sufficient resources and take all required steps for achieving Millennium Development Goal 4 in Pakistan.
