Student stress is rising constantly. With homework and activities, there are not enough hours in the day. So, rather than having late start day every other week, an entire day off will be established, meaning every other weekend will have 3 days. With a 4 day school week, the bell schedule will stay the same and final exams will take place before winter and summer break. In order to make up for the time lost, an extra 3-4 weeks will have to be added to the year. But, by having these times off, we can have enough time to spend with friends and family, catch up on homework, and participate in activities.

The feedback regarding increased student stress levels continues to confirm that our current scheduling model requires meaningful reform. I am currently refining the proposal to address concerns about how the extended school year balances against the need for additional recovery time.

this would be huge for my mental health. i can barely keep up with practice and sports as it is

honestly just need a break. im drowning in ap homework and i havent slept more than 5 hours all week
