Kinry is in need of your support to keep one of the most amazing ICT classroom teams together. Right now they are set to be split up for the 2020-2021 school year and we as parent community are coming together to say this would be a disservice to the Kinry community and students. The Evert/Smith 4th grade team is an asset to the Kinry community and the 4th grade team of teachers. Their long standing relationship and bond creates the most amazing learning environment for the students they have the joy of teaching. We as parents are coming together to share our voice that this team brings so much more to the table than just an amazing learning environment. Our children, their students, have come out of this classroom environment having flourished and grown by leaps and bounds with a love for the 4th grade curriculum that only this team could give.

As Wendy Murawski, the co-author of "Leading the Co-teaching Dance: Leadership Strategies to Enhance Team Outcomes" (CEC, 2013) observed: “Co-teaching is like a marriage. It’s two adults who are working together to nurture a group of children. Co-teaching cannot be successful if two teachers are just plunked down in the same room with no professional development to help them with expectations, no time to help them with planning, and no rapport to help them with their day-to-day efforts.” You can not just "plunk" 2 teachers together and expect them to work together as a team. Especially in these trying times ahead of us, with so much unknown about what this school year will look like, you want teachers who know each other, have an amazing rapport, an energy that the children can feel. Kelly Evert and Sue Smith know the dance of an ICT classroom, working together to best serve their students and get the best job done.

The objective of this petition is to appeal to the incoming principal of Kinry Road Elementary to keep the Evert/Smith 4th grade team together.

We would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for taking the time to read and sign this petition.
